The Genomic Hyperbrowser is a statistical analysis system for genomic data. It provides both a mathematical model and a web-based analysis tool. In the system, a collection of generic biological questions are presented, capturing a multitude of investigation needs. We have performed several example investigations. One is simply examining how gene coverage varies along the genome. As the definition of genes is not carved in stone, we studied this for gene definitions according to European, American and Japanese sources. Other examples are related to histone methylation, melanoma-related genes and the propensity of DNA to denaturate into single strands at exons. The software is open source and widely extensible.
